Start with a face and a scene.
- Choose a clear face photo that you have permission to use.
- Import the photo or video you want to work with, then choose the faces to replace.
- Preview the result and export when you’re happy with it.
The processing models are included in the app. Initial preparation happens on your device and can take a little time. Keep the app open while it prepares.
Faces & results
Why isn’t a face being detected?
Try a sharp, well-lit photo with the face clearly visible. Very small faces, strong side angles, sunglasses, obstructions, or motion blur can make detection difficult. A more front-facing image is a useful first check.
How can I get a more natural result?
Use a clear source face and target media with similar angles and lighting. Start with a single visible face, check the preview, then try a different source photo if the expression or outline looks off.
Do I need to download any models?
No separate model download is needed. The app includes its face-processing models. Your device may need to prepare them locally the first time a feature is used, and after some app or system updates.
Can I use it offline?
Face processing runs on your device and does not need an internet connection once your selected media is available locally. Retrieving media stored only in iCloud, visiting this website, or sending email uses a network connection.
Videos & exports
A video is taking a long time. What should I try?
Processing time depends on your device, clip length, resolution, and the number of faces. Try a shorter clip first, keep Swapeno in the foreground, and make sure the device has enough free storage. If the device becomes warm, give it time to cool before another long export.
Why did an export fail or stop?
Check available storage and any Photos permission requested when saving. Reopen the source media and try a short segment or a smaller file. If the same failure repeats, contact us with your device, iOS version, app version, and the steps that led to the issue.
Does exporting change my original photo or video?
Swapeno creates a separate result. Keep your original media if you may want to edit it again. Copies you save to Photos, Files, or another app are managed by that destination.
Your local data
Where are my photos, videos, and saved faces processed?
Face and media processing happens on your device. Imported media and saved face portraits are kept in local app storage. Numerical face representations are computed in memory when needed and are not saved in the face library or preferences. Swapeno does not upload them for face processing. Read the privacy policy for the details and what happens when you use Apple services, export, or share something.
How do I remove a saved face or other app data?
Use the app’s removal controls for saved faces and stored items. Removing the app normally removes its local app data. Media you exported to Photos or Files, and device backups, are separate and may need to be removed using the relevant Apple settings or app.
Let’s work it out.
For help, feedback, or privacy questions:
Include your device model, iOS version, Swapeno version, and a short description of what you expected and what happened. A repeatable sequence of steps is especially helpful.
Please start without attaching personal photos or videos. If you choose to share a local diagnostic report or screenshot, review it first and remove anything you don’t want to send.
